Changes between Job and JB There are many different sides to changing or changes Changes concern physical mental or even emotional points In the story of Job compared to MacLeishs JB change is defiantly is an issue where this term is found in each of the different views All of these different changes are what make the difference between the two stories The book of Job was found to be from 800 to 300 BC The story from the Bible was obviously written according to the time period In MacLeishs JB though the date wasnt stated could be assumed to be a more current representation of Job With the very different dates is also a different interpretation of the story The oxen were plowing and the donkeys gazing and the Sabeans attacked and took them and killed the boysLightening fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and boysChaldeans attacked the camels and took them and killed the boysYour sons and daughters were feasting and a great wind came out of the desert and knocked down the walls of the house and it fell on them and theyre dead and only I escaped to tell you this depiction of Jobs initial loss contrasts with JB in which his family was the first to be taken from him It is apparent that in more modern times family and friends are considered to be more valuable than livestock In Job the livestock was killed off before his family which gives the impression that the most important things were rid of first and in this case the livestock was of more importance MacLeish also recognizes the aspect of how and why the children died Its almost as if MacLeish just switched the role of the livestock with the children The children die in horrible ways two of the children got murdered just as equally how in the Book of Job the animals were rid of first
