On Thursday night I arrive at my uncles house Its ten oclock at night It was freezing outside and the wind was lashing at nature and the rain was its companion The worn house rests off a barren dead end street I run up the muddy driveway looking over my shoulder as if something were following me And something wasI scurry into the darkened doorway with the door creaking shut Hurry follow me a voice whispers in the darkness I followed the shadowy figure into the candle lit room and then up the ancient steeps The pace was a hastened one The figure led me to a set of ancient wooden steps I headed up the stairs step pause step pause The pause was just in case a feint sound emerged Step pause step pause still nothing The sound of car breaks caught the attention of my ear The steps were now faster with more fear in each oneAt the top of the steps lay an barren attic The rain still beat at the weak house the sound increased Who made the rain mad Did it sence our own fear I was directed to the corner Spider webs and dust covered the room like a plague I sit down on the rough floor and my navigator heads back down the creaky steps Now for the first time the feeling of fear spread throughout me It blanketed me and made me feel scared I was aloneThe dim light from the solo candle is no longer Black Lonely Afraid The sounds of movement from under me are gone and the house is silent My heart is pounding and my tightened chest is trying to restrain the thumping muscle
