Geoffrey Fischer notes There is a sacred realm of privacy for every man and woman where he makes his choices and decisions-a realm of his own essential rights and liberties into which the law generally speaking must not intrude1 Homeland security and major corporations have increased their monitoring of citizens through internet telephone and GPS More effective and advanced methods are being planned for the future and are already in the works American government and corporations involvement and monitoring of citizens is continually increasing some question if this is truly in the name of safetyThe first and main way many citizens are being monitored is through the internet Countless companies are making large amounts of money off of your personal information These companies are referred to as Third Party tracking sites The basic function of these sites is to make individual profiles of internet users compiling information such as full names finances purchases location school online networking photos family phone numbers etc The information is obtained voluntarily and involuntary through visited websites These websites include Rubicon Project AdSonar Advertisingcom Tacodanet all three are divisions of AOL advertising Quantcast Pulse 360 Undertone AdBureau part of Microsoft Advertising Traffic Marketplace and DoubleClick which is owned by Google Eckersley After information has been collected from your computer cookies database and put into your saved individual profile any and all information can be bought and sold to anyone mostly advertising companies who then place specific ads onto every webpage presented designed just for that user Not to menschen recent adult content that an individual may or may not want the entire world to know about Many things can be done and are being done with individuals private information on almost everyone There is no way any of these practices are ethical or respect privacy in citizens private homes A second method private information on citizens is being collected is through mobile phone usage
