Dissillusioned What does it mean to be disillusioned What are some examples of disillusionment People become disillusioned at pivotal moments in their lives Disillusionment comes in many different guises In the story Shine Perishing Republic there is a rebellion against traditional society When the author proclaims only a bubble in the molten mass he shows that one person alone can make no difference Jeffers 677 Why should we try and go against society when we know how insignificant we really are We are one bubble in a MOLTEN MASS we mean nothing But for my children I would have them keep their distance is said by the author to show he doesnt want future generations to know the truth about society Jeffers 677 The knowledge of the lack of importance of one in society is inevitable No one can escape the truth Society may be a beautifully wrapped gift on the outside but on the inside it is the worse one can even begin to imagine In the story Richard Cory original perceptions are shattered The way this story begins the author portrays Richard Cory as having the perfect life He was a gentlemen from sole to crownAnd was rich-Yeswe thought he was everything Robinson 634 What a perfect life Richard Cory has everything going for him What could possibly go wrong The author shockingly ends the story with Cory taking his own life Richard Corywent home and put a bullet through his head Robinson 634 This proves that no matter how much a person has going for themselves it may still not be what that person is looking for Dont ever judge anyone because of the affects it might have Not only are the perceptions of the other characters in the story shattered but also so are the readers of the story In the story I TOO there is
