Over population is found in all walks of life in peoples minds anywhere from cats to dogs to humans themselves The myth of over-population began thousands of years ago in ancient Greece among those wanting ultimate control over others 2800 years ago a wise Solomon once wrote In the multitude of people is the kings honor but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince Proverbs 1428 Human over population has been on peoples minds greatly for the last 150 years or so Starting in 1850 the world population was approx 1 billion people In 1999 we reached the 6 billion mark At the rate the world will see a total projected population any where from 78 billion to 125 billion people by the year 2050 These figures are greatly astounding considering that it has jumped 600 within the last 150 years Between China and India each year add approx 34 million people each where there are approx 26 million more people each year in the United States Many people believe that the worlds resources will be depleted with all of the new life which is going to be introduced on to the earth Every 20 minutes the world adds another 3500 human lives but loses one or more species of animal or plant life - at least 27000 species per year This is a rate and scale of extinction that has not occurred in 65 million years In the world only a very small portion of the population consumes the majority of the worlds resources The richest fifth consumes 86 of all goods and services and produces 53 or all carbon dioxide emissions while the poorest fifth consumes 13 of goods and services and accounts for 3 of C02 output Right now Many peoples retaliation to the world population growing is that the places with the most poverty include those with the highest people per square mile ppsm Where
