Vice and Virtue are two concepts that have been present in society for thousands of years and they are used to tell us what we can and cannot do These two antagonist concepts come from thousands of years of history traditions and continuous evolution The first and most important enforcer of vice and virtue in the world religion and because of this they can be pinpointed as the ones that have originated todays concept of vice and virtue Todays concept of vice and virtue is not working for the collective good because we normally think only in ourselves and if it affects other people that have nothing to do with you then you do not care and you go on with it In addition the concepts of vice and virtue are terms that are relative Relativism is a term introduced by Charles Louis Baron de Montesquieu one of the most representative philosophers of the enlightenment Relativism is based on the idea that what one society thinks that it is good to do something there will be another society that will say that the same thing is wrong to do and that what is good and bad depends on the society and what it is like based on its culture and power structure Today in Colombia the power structure supposedly based on the concept of a Democratic form of government in which the people elect their governors and the people that will represent them but this type of power structure does not consider all people Democracy is based on a voting system for the elections but because not everyone will vote for the same person because no one thinks the same idols of tribe and cave then not everybody will be represented by the person that wins the elections If you look at democracy from that point of view you will see that it does not consider everyone but because we do not think alike
