The United States is over two hundred years old and an assessment of its system is in dire need In order to correctly assess it we need to ask ourselves about 1 the statement of its goals 2 the specification and 3 the implementation of the system The United States possesses all of these things the statement of goals the Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers design specification the Constitution and the implementation the United States as it exists According to the preamble of the Declaration of Independence the US exists only by consent of the people who have the right to institute a new state when the old ceases to follow the founding principles of the Declaration It also states that the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness are unalienable and that the US must treat all people equally neither favoring or oppressing and class or individual The Constitution outlines the United States It says that the US should have no requirements of an agreement by the people and no written agreement for its own replacement People from different work classes races or females never voted on the Constitution It was adopted by the votes of rich white male citizens Other than them nobody else had a say in it The Constitution also states that there are several rights the US is prohibited to infringe such as the freedom of speech press and the practice of religion Instead of writing something that restricts the broad term of Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness the Constitution sets forth many things that go back on this One of these things is the right to seize property which of course denies that the right to property is unalienable The Constitution also says that there are five classes of residents Rulers citizens non-citizens Indians and slaves This contradicts the idea of equal participation and treatment of all people Take the Indians for example
