Mr Marin Luther King was a husband father a preacher and the preeminent leader of a movement which continues to change America and the world He was born January 15th 1929- April 4th This determined man had two sons and two daughters into the family He was trying his very best for the rights of black people all around the world since 1954 while he was in the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People Early in December 1955 to accept the leadership of the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration of conspiracy times in the United States the bus boycott This bus boycott lasted 382 days On December 21st 1956 after the Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional laws requiring segrated on buses King was arrested his house bombed he was subject to personal abuse but the same time he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank In 1957 he was elected president of the Southern Christian leadership conference An organization formed to provide new leadership for the civil rights movement In the eleven year period between 1957-1968 King travelled over six-million miles and spoke over 25 hundred times appearing anywhere there was injustice protest and action He held a massive in Birmingham Alabama that captured the attention of the whole world I have a Dream he conferred with John F Kennedy and competed for president for Lyndon B Johnston He was arrested upwards of twenty and assaulted at least four times At the age of thirty-five Martin Luther King was the youngest man to achieve the Nobel Peace Prize He donated the prize money of 54 123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement On the early evening of April 4th 1968 while he stood on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis Tennessee where he was to lead a protest march in Sympathy with striking
