In The Two Towers by JRR Tolken the fellowship which now consists of Aragon Gimli Legolas and Gandalf travel to Oronac the evil Sarumans lair On the way there they stop at Helms Deep a fortress that is under attack by Sarumans forces After successfully defending it against the Orcs they continue their journey to Oronac There they find Merry and Pippin the two hobbits that were captured in the first book who traveled to Oronac with the Ents tree-like creatures and have already destroyed all the town except Sarumans tower which is defended by magic They try to talk Saruman into surrendering but he refuses and seals himself inside the tower Leaving the defense of Oronac to the Ents the fellowship leaves for Saurons stronghold Mordor Here the story shifts to Frodo and Samwise the two hobbits that left the fellowship to travel to destroy the mystical ring alone Gollum a creature that has been warped by the rings power leads them Eventually he leads them up into the mountains where they come to a large passageway which is the lair of a large spider-creature The spider paralyzed Frodo but not before he and Samwise critically injure it Samwise thinking Frodo is dead leaves him and leaves with the ring on his finger becoming invisible But as he is leaving he sees Orcs who know of the spiders venom take him and carry him away towards a hidden door in the passage way Samwise pursues but the Orcs seal the door right before he gets there leaving him outside alone to wallow in his misfortune Every aspect of this book is well explained in detail lengthily which really leaves no room for misunderstandings Some questions I have involve the other characters in the book whatever happens to them The Ents the Elves and the Riders They all help the fellowship because they want to defeat the enemy but then what Do they continue to
