ODYSSEUS FATE A NEW JOURNEY BEGINS Many years have passed away since Odysseus and his beloved Penelope has reconciled For many years there was peace in Ithaca but the man skilled in all ways of contending was yet to satisfy his desire for adventures As it was foretold by that dark prince of Thebes The blind prophet Teiresias whom the greathearted Odysseus met with years past in the land of the dead The great Odysseus was finally ready to leave the land of Ithaca where he grew up and where his soul would always be True he has grown old with years his skin wrinkled and his hair white as a dove who flew high in the skies of Olympus None would change his mind and as he looked back to take one last look at his beautiful kingdom there were two who approached him Telemachus who now stood as tall as an olive tree alongside his mother Penelope the faithful wife of Odysseus Both had grim looks upon their faces for neither wanted this great man to leave his kingdom Telemachus started his pleas Father must you leave us behind once again after so many years of hardship and pain How can you leave mother behind and go on to some distant place Have the gods in Olympus really made you that hard and cruel Please come back for our sake Besides the prince the old and faithful Penelope started to cry and that did not go unnoticed by Odysseus who then took her in his arms and comforted her The versatile Odysseus finally said Telemachus my son it is true that you had to go through pain and suffering for you lacked a father when you needed one You had the courage to not give up hope even after those suitors tried to rob you of your inheritence those dogs Yes but when we were reunited once
