Cupid also known as Eros in the Greek mythology was the god of love Another word for love amor Cupid was an immortal who was pretty much in charge of match making so to say Cupid was the son of Venus Cupid is often presented with a blind fold because love lots of times is blinded Cupids trademark was a boy and arrows In which the arrows were magical and could make an undesirable love that was not meant to be into a happy marriage In which if someone was to be struck with Cupids arrows the first person they saw would be the person that they would fall in love with One of the greatest love stories involved Cupid and his love mate Psyche The story starts with one of three daughters of a kind The youngest was Psyche Psyche was so beautiful that she was compared to most Goddess This upset Venus for she was being compared to an immortal So Venus sent her son Cupid down to take care of her Venus had planed for Cupid to shoot Psyche with one of his arrows and to have her fall in love with a hideous creature Yet Cupid in the act of doing fell in love with Psyche himself he didnt accidentally shoot himself though So Cupid never shot Psyche like he was suppose to So Psyche became very lonely and still was all alone Her father received advice from the oracle of Apollo that Psyche is to be dressed in the deepest mourning and placed on the summit of a mountain and to be take away by a winged serpent strong that the gods themselves the winds are also called the West Wind Soon Psyche felt a breath of wind on her neck and she was swept away off her feet When she was awake she was in a magnificent house Yet there was no husband yet for her As nightfall came
