Sexuality in the Church The purpose of this paper is to examine sexuality in the church the attitudes of the congregation regarding sexuality howif it is taught in the church and how the church deals and should deal with the issue of sexual immorality The information for this paper comes from the interviews of three trusted church officials and from the Bible NIV Hopefully this paper will present differing information and offer helpful experienced and biblical views on the topic of sexuality in the church The following are the opinions of these officials as they were expressed to me In order to better understand the teaching of sexuality in the church it is important to determine the attitude of the church or the majority of its members regarding the issue of sexuality When the three officials were asked if there were problems among the members regarding how when or if sex is ever discussed in church the responses were 1 no 2 Im sure there is nothing thats ever come up its never really been discussed I assume that there is some concern but its not talked about much and 3 I assume there would be but it would be dependent on where it was done whether it was a small or large class etc They were also asked When you started going to church what were some of the feelings you experienced regarding how the majority of the people in the church reacted to the topic of sex The attitudes that the officials felt included it is an uncomfortable topic never properly handled there were some attempts made but it was never fully addressed sex is bad its a bad nasty thing it wasnt talked about One official is a preacher and he shared with me a story of the first time he preached a sermon on sex He starte 7d out with some jokes to loosen everybody up but
