A white light thats all I thought it was I wasnt really sure about where it had come from May be it was a reflection from the car blinkers outside the window It was always there the same light passing by the same door The only way for a person to spot it was if he or she were to sit in that rocking chair in the living room We found the chair in the frightful basement when we first moved in An odd smell had wafted through a combination of age old dust and mold along with something murky As we went down the stairs the smell became suffocating and the atmosphere colder My grandmother believed the chair was in pretty good condition and refused to throw it out So we kept it in the living roomI was about ten years old but I remember it as if it was yesterday I was living in a house with about twenty other people and although the house was considered big the space I had wasnt The living room was a humble room that contained three sofas a coffee table a small television and the old rocking chair The rocking chair was placed in the corner of the room and always faced the doorway which led to the front yard of the house No one in the house ever really mentioned the flash of light that passed by and I never thought to question it I always thought my eyes were playing tricks on me It was a few years later after moving out into a house of our own that we had a family gathering It was during the meeting when someone actually mentioned the white light for the first time Thats when I realized it was real and not just a figment of my imagination or a trick of my eyesThe chalky figure was described as being pale and nearly translucent that sometimes gives
