My name is Alice Quick Whats the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear my name Most people would say Alice in Wonderland immediately tell me so as if they were the first to think of it Thanks so much Mr Carroll I absolutely hated the name Every time someone would call me it I would spin around eyes burning and say My name is Alice Just Alice nothing else This only fueled my classmates desire to use it more Throughout elementary school someone would use this to get a reaction out of me and I would unwittingly oblige As time went on joke got stale By middle school the name was dead and I was Alice again Thank God Recently Ive re-read Lewis Carrolls Alices Adventures in Wonderland which I loved by the way and Ive noticed just how similar we are Alice begins her adventure by plummeting down a rabbit hole She goes so far down that she even begins to forget to be afraid even though the bottom is rapidly approaching I had an experience in Middle School similar to this I began to fall emotionally instead of physically like Alice I stopped caring about schoolwork and consequently my grades fell I began pretending that it wasnt happening that it didnt really matter if I did well in school or not I plunged so far down that I even started lying to my parents telling them I had done my homework or that I had earned good scores on tests At one interim report during 8th grade I had every grade possible from an A in English to an F in Science My parents hit the ceiling and I woke up I worked extremely hard not only at making up back work from previous quarters but to become in good standing with my present grades The last quarter of 8th grade I earned
