I still remember the day my grandmother walked for the first time in 3 years Every single thing that happened seemed so great Even the noise the floor made as she walked was astounding I watched her every move as she made her first steps At that moment I felt like the happiest person alive Many people view walking as such a simple every day phenomena and dont appreciate the simple things in life I have to admit at first I never cared either but along with my grandmother I went through obstacles and I learned many lessons in my life Even though I am an only child I am part of a very big family In one of our family gatherings I heard the worst news I would ever hear Grandma has been diagnosed with Parkinson Disease At that moment my world shattered I didnt know what to say how to act or even what to think About two months later we heard she had a stroke and her kidney had been damaged so there was no option of surgery I felt depressed and didnt know who to turn to Then I realized that the best person to talk to was my grandma herself We went through it together and she always made me feel loved She had to go to a rehabilitation center and there I learned the biggest lesson in my life I saw a young lady who looked very beautiful and full of life I wondered why she was in a rehabilitation center and when I found out it broke my heart A bookcase had fallen on her and now she wouldnt be able to do any daily activity without the help of someone Her life has been basically destroyed In that moment I realized that my life and that of those around me is precious
