How I Learned To Drive First let me start off by saying that I have never seen a play presented in a black box theater I thought that it was going to be just a little different from a regular theater only in scale but I was caught by surprise when I entered My initial reaction when I took my seat was discouraging since I thought that it was going to have a much larger stage and many more props To be honest with you I thought that I was going to have to struggle through the hour to hour and a half show but I was wrong After the first twenty minutes of the performance went by I was enjoying myself a lot more than I expected I also thought that the play was going to be all about learning how to drive an assumption that I got from the title I was surprised again I had no idea that the play was going to be about a family that was screwed up as bad as this one I thought that the play was going to be funny and tragic since learning how to drive is supposed to be a fun milestone in someones life although tragedy sometimes occurs because of lack of experience When I was watching the play I felt extremely bad for Little Bit since her Uncle was so physically and mentally attracted to her He was using his ability to teach Little Bit how to drive to his advantage The time that Little Bit spent with her Uncle learning how to drive should have been for her advantage but that was not happening Every time they were together her uncle used it to get a little action and was scarring her for life I thought that this play was a great representation of reality since these things do happen Every child
