Going to college has been something Ive looked forward to since junior high Now that I am finally a senior and less than a year away from entering yet another system of higher education I am realizing I will practically be entering another world I didnt think anything could be more nerve racking than my transition from junior high to high school Now I realize that was only a baby step College is the final step before the real world and there are going to be many challenges I will have to face in my transition from high school to college After reviewing the endless amount of challenges I am going to encounter I think my greatest transitional challenge is going to be the simple fact that I am going to be on my own This challenge is in many ways bitter sweet I am going to have several freedoms Ive never experienced before but in turn I am going to have to give up many securities I have grown quite fond of Living with my parents for seventeen years has given me the luxury of having few responsibilities Once in college I will continue to have those responsibilities along with everything my parents have to this point done for me Simple things like getting meals on my own doing my own laundry and doing other chores are going to become tasks that I am going to have to complete on my own When I am in college I cant just run home and ask my parents for money I am going to have to learn to manage my money on my own One of the worst parts is no one will be knocking on my door making sure Ive done my share of studying and homework for the night Being on my own in the new school environment itself will be a challenge Professors in college are not going hound me if
