How many of you think that welfare should be done away with I believe that welfare should be eliminated and my point is to persuade all of you why it should be done away with My reasons for this are that its a drain to our National Budget System itll force people to become productive and welfare is a self-perpetuating maker of welfare families Welfare needs to come to an end Welfare is a drain to our National Budget System Us workers have to pay taxes and the government takes these taxes and uses them to enhance the quality of life for all hard working Americans Such things are paved roads better school systems and funding for the National Defense All that money can go to something positive instead of something negative Since the start of the War of Poverty the US spent more than 35 trillion trying to ease the plight of the poor Also eliminating welfare would possibly force people to become productive People will realize that they need to get a job and quit being dependent on the government Wouldnt you hate knowing that you are out there working hard while other people out there are sitting on their couch watching TV and getting paid to do that They need to know that theyre ruining our economical system Last but not least welfare is self-perpetuating Its affecting the way children are going to manage their lives in the real world later in life Kids see what their parents are doing and assume that its the right thing to do It can become a habit almost as bad as doing drugs I hope youve all realized what welfare is doing to the people in our country My reasons again for eliminating welfare are that its a drain to our National Budget System itll force people to become productive in the work force and welfare is self-perpetuating the kids of welfare families in
