As a child we were all bound by the rule of loving parents Many of which better prepared you for the world to come and others to merely keep order Often times rules tend to change from child to child as the parents become more experienced in parenthood But how does that make the oldest child feel when he sees his parents letting his brother or sister get away with things he would never have dreamed of getting away with when he was their age Feelings of jealousy and anger flow through my mind when I see Lindsay my younger sister come in an hour after her curfew and not a word of anger is uttered from my parents mouths as she walks nonchalantly to her room Or when Ryan my little brother age 14 staying up till eleven oclock on a school night when just four years ago I was his age having to be in bed by ten I remember being their age doing things around the house just to help out things I still do today Watching my brother and sister getting mad and arguing with my parents because they had the nerve to ask them to do simple thing like load the dishwasher or sweep the kitchen irritates me Then I watch my parents just say the hell with it and just do it their selves or tell me to do it The anger just builds knowing that if I did that when I was their age I would either be made to do it or sent to my room but they get off scott free The one thing that absolutely infuriates me is that when I mention these things to my parents they dismiss it as being different Excuses such as shes a girl or girls have more of a social life than boys or my favorite Life isnt always fare so get used to it
