"Your personal statement is very well-written. You provide significant detail about your past experiences and what you will bring to this program. For the most part, spacing and punctuation throughout the paper are correct. There is a pattern of your writing using past tense when under many circumstances it would be more appropriate to use the present tense. One example is: "Since I was a little child I was fascinated...". Instead, it should be: "Since I was a little child I have been fascinated...". Another example is "...so that I could understand..." should be "...so that I can understand...". There are also a number of areas where the wording is awkward. One such example is: "Besides, during the four-year study, I have taken several...". Rather than saying this consider: "During my four years of study I took several...". You end with a strong conclusion which is good. Just make sure that you review the wording and make sure that any awkward sentences are fixed. I always recommend when someone is applying to a program that they consider writing a paragraph that lets the program supervisors know why you are specifically choosing their program. What specific characteristics of the program make the program a good fit for you? What about the specific program sets it apart from other programs you could have chosen to apply to?"
