As I walked into my brand new house the first thing I noticed was the new paint scent I overheard my parents talking about how much they liked the new house and how much they were looking foward to live in it As they were discussing the issue I could see it in their faces that they were saying it to self-justify the misery that theyve been going through for the past couple of years Ever since my high school life began that was when my parents started to struggle with financial issues The owner of the company that my dad was affiliated with was not only a friend of ours but a distant family member as well When Silicon Valley hit the economic crisis that was when the company started spiraling downhill leaving my dad with nothing but a feeling of depression and stupidity This feeling stirred up within him because he felt that his not being able to speak English well enough was what stopped him into working for an American company The economy became so horrible that our family friend told my dad that because of the bad economy and his own financial circumstances he would pay my dad later when the economy was better My dad didnt like the idea but he went along with it because we trusted him Time passed and the outlook for the economy was getting worse We later found out that this family friend of ours filed for a personal bankruptcy and took his every penny back to Korea along with my dads money Our so called family friend leaving with our money was only the beginning It soon became to be the beginning of my family falling apart This devastation caused with our family friend leaving left my parents horrified My mom became so distraught and stressed that she developed thyroid My dad was then unemployed and remained unemployed for the longest
