Life consists of choices Life itself is a choice People make numerous choices a day whether or not to go to school study for the test or even which pair of shoes to wear Sometimes it is very difficult to decide what course of action to take Sometimes a specific decision can change ones life forever This is often so with the choice of religion Beginning with the time of birth until the time of death people have to make choices everyday on how to achieve the goals in their lives One can imagine life as an endless road with millions of other roads branching off in many directions The only problem is that there is often not enough time in life to explore all the branches An important choice in life is spirituality Religion is often a primary factor in many actions performed by humans Religions are said to offer reasons for dreams natural phenomena the beginning of the world and our place in it Religion grants comfort during times of hardship and is the glue that binds societies around the world in addition to inspiring and in some cases even being the moral code by which these societies are run Perhaps religion is no more than another example of our vulnerability and inclination to follow Everyone has to question what is this world we live in why are we here on earth and is there a god These questions have been around since a human being began walking on earth There is no doubt that Pi Patel in Life of Pi by Yann Martel was asking himself the same questions He was a young curios boy who tried to understand how life works Over the centuries since the bible was written many different schools of thought have been established around the world for example Catholic Hebrew Presbyterian and Baptist However many people that are raised in religious families are greatly influenced by their
