A Report on Interracial Relationships

This is a research paper where a group of students focused on interracial relationships. They wanted to calculate how many adult Americans had been in an interracial relationship and if past dating history influenced whether someone would marry outside their race. The group highlighted how interracial relationships are topics in TV shows and movies and how less than 35 years ago, states had laws against sexual relations and marriage between black and white people. The group surveyed a random sample of 70 people in the San Fernando Valley to conduct their experiment.

"This paper is off to an excellent start, and with only some minor changes can be improved significantly. The first thing you should work on that will lead to the most improvement is the introduction and the conclusion. While you have all of the information that makes for a good introduction, you do not have "Introduction" as a heading, so it is not as clear to the reader as it should be what part of your text introduces the purpose of the paper and ends with a thesis statement. When looking at the conclusion, it does not feel as if the piece ends in a well-rounded manner. Use the conclusion as an opportunity to summarize the main points made in the body of the paper and relate them to the introduction. Based on your section titled "Group Topic," it is clear what the purpose of your paper is and that you are focused on that purpose throughout your writing. Regarding content, there are a couple of places where you present information, and it feels like it could be elaborated upon. Overall, the formatting and conventions used in your paper are good. There are a few places where your paragraphs are slightly indented when most of them are not. Some areas could benefit from the placement of commas or better-organized sentence structure."
