Our life is full of problems and troubles some of them are our personal difficulties and others are the tragedy of the whole society The problem with racism is one of the most widely spread in our country Its main problem is that many people dont think it is Many live their lives not even realizing what happens in the world around them Others know all about it but they dont realize that they themselves are racists One of the main problems with racism is that many people live in racist conditions without even seeing it It flies right over their heads schools the workplace our community our friends houses even our homes Many authors write books about this problem that existed long time ago and is still one of the main prejudice problems that lead to discrimination of people just because of their different skin color John Howard Griffin a journalist and a specialist on race issues began his discoveries on the racial problems in his society at the age when the flower of racism was blessed by the majority groups in the US His book was published in 1960 and the reaction on it was like a thunder in a blue sky Today John Griffins book Black Like Me is considered a classic and an excellent teaching tool John Griffin had a desire to know if Southern whites were racist against the Negro population of the Deep South or if they really judged people based on the individuals personality as they said It prompted him to cross the color line and write Black Like Me Since communication between the white and African American races did not exist neither race really knew what it was like for the other Due to this Griffin felt the only way to know the truth was to become a black man and travel through the South His trip was financed by the internationally distributed Negro magazine Sepia in
