A report on weapons in the school and the effects they have on the people around them Weapons in our Schools Introduction This report is about weapons in our schools My report is a consequence of bringing a knife to school While I was being searched in the principals office a knife was found on me At first I didnt think too much of it in the way of safety but after doing research on different incidents I see the problem with my actions By bringing a weapon onto the campus I compromised the safety of all my fellow students and the staff of Bremerton High School The problem of having weapons present in the school has improved greatly but still needs to be addressed and prevented Main Students bringing weapons to school is a major problem that needs to be dealt with The Youth Safety Summit Report for October 1998 points out that for the most part fights at school very rarely involve weapons Grades 8th through 10th have the most problems with weapons This problem has improved greatly in the last few years However regardless of how much the problem improves we still need to keep working on fixing it People bringing weapons to school affects the staff and student body in many different ways The presence of these weapons sometimes causes others to feel unsafe in school Some students who feel unsafe due to others having weapons on them begin to carry a weapon themselves for protection This thinking just causes the problem to grow larger This is not a solution People who bring weapons just make the matter worse People who have a weapon on them feel a lot more powerful and invincible then they usually do This just serves to make them more aggressive People with weapons will act more confident and do stuff or go places where they normally wouldnt Its a psychological thing
