Frankenstein Research Response This article from ABC NEWS talks about how child abuse can corrupt a childs mind and drive them to engage in things that they normally would not have A grandmother Follette had fought for legal custody of her four grandchildren The children suffered many distressing events that are unhealthy for child growth They were exposed to neglect parental abandonment physical abuse and other things of that nature Grandmother Follette won the custody of the children and they had to go and live with her in Columbus Ohio At the grandmothers house the children still experienced discipline but it wasnt as severe as before The types of punishment that the grandmother would give are time outs being grounded or standing in the middle of the room on one foot One day January 21 two of the children an 11-year-old boy and his 12-year-old sister had devised an appalling machination to kill their grandmother and their younger siblings Their plan was to set the house on fire and kill the grandmother and their siblings in the process The corrupt children thought that when they set the house on fire it would burn slowly and they would be able to stab the others with knifes Things did not go the way that they wanted them to The house burned rapidly and one of their siblings woke up in time and warned the house of the fire and they escaped safely The evidence showed that the arsenal was accidental but the little girl made a confession of the plot while they were eating breakfast at a restaurant An investigation was done and the detectives were led to believe that the children devised this plan because of the punishment that their grandmother gave to them It was also thought that they wanted to get rid of their grandmother so the children could go and live with their grandfather divorced from the grandmother Their plan
