Anne Frank The Diary of A Young Girl Passages OF INTEREST a Pg 44 I love them but only because they are Mummy and Margotmy insides gnaw at me when he praises herhe doesnt notice how he treats Margot different from meMargot is the sweetest prettiest girl in the worldand no one is ever satisfied with me b Pg 216 Were much too young to deal with these problems but they keep thrusting themselves on us until finally were forced to think up a solution though most of the time our solutions crumble when faced with the facts Its difficult in times like these ideals dreams and cherished hopes rise within us only to be crushed by grim reality Its a wonder I havent abandoned all my ideals they seem so absurd and impractical Yet I cling to them because I still believe in spite of everything that people are truly good at heart c Pg 227 And yet when I look up at the sky I somehow feel that everything will change for the better that this cruelty too shall end that peace and tranquility will return once more In the meantime I must hold on to my ideals Perhaps the day will come when Ill be able to realize them Literary TERMS AND MECHANICS aI cant say I relate very well to Annes feelings in the passage Im the oldest in my family and I could probably relate better to Margot in this case However from a distance I can see what Anne is trying to say This paragraph could very much with moderate alterations be the life story of Ron Weasley one of JK Rowlings most popular characters Anne feels that Margots achievements overshadow what she has become These feelings could be present with anyone and not just the younger siblings No one likes to play second fiddle
