October 30th 1620 Its been only a few weeks since we have all left for our new home The boat is awful and I do not know how I will ever get used to it But I dont complain we are all here together we all have the same dreams and same hopes for the future In a few short weeks our lives will be changed forever William talks of this place as though he had already been there and lived on it He imagines such a world where anything is possible and I too find myself dreaming of this promise land as they say And I dream of what the future holds for me and for William I pray to God that everything turns out the way we imagine it will Dorothy Bradford November 6th 1620 The days seem to be getting longer Our enthusiasm and excitement is slowly fading It has rained for the past three days now which has not helped the spirits of the crew Early in the morning I take Williams telescope and I try to look for land but all I see across the horizon is ocean Miles and miles of dark blue ocean It seems as though the whole Earth is covered with water and we will never get to shore But I keep my thoughts to myself for Williams temper is short these days and I do not like to anger him I have a lot of time to myself although I try to help in any way I can I am lonely sometimes but I know that everything will be different soon Dorothy Bradford November 13th 1620 Half of the people on board the boat are ill The damp cold weather and the half-rotting food are causing sickness left and right I am not as sick as the others are thank God I would
