the article titled On Making Judgements the author discusses how recently people are making the choice not to judge when in some cases judging may be necessary The author wants the reader to believe that judging in some cases should be taken into consideration and is also necessary to take action that requires you to judge an act He brings up a recent case where the outcome of not judging turned out to be murder The question is then raised Should we condemn a person for choosing not to get involved because he didnt feel he had the right to judge based on the simple fact that his own life was not in danger In the case stated by the author the mother of the girl that was murdered feels he should be at fault for failing to report a crime in progress Another point the author made is a judgment is a feeling or opinion on something Judgments are made everyday in almost every aspect of a persons life Should we ask people to stop judging things that are carried out in everyones lives According to the author if this happens then we are betraying our own intelligence Also we would be failing to make personal or moral decisions that would effect everyone on this planet as a whole The author mentions that he is a professor and he teaches his students to substitute the word judge for the word feel He also states that feelings need not be defended or explained the only evidence that they require is that feeling In order to make a judgment you need to have proof to defend that judgment A judgment
