When Jonas was given the assignment for first years hehad gone through trainings needed to endure the hardships and made itthrough Although as soon as he realized what his father killed one ofthe twins he started to feel sympathetic for his community hephilosophizes if there is any clues dramatically revolutionize therules and the way his community is He eventually determined to takeGabriel the newborn who was close to being released to elsewhere wherehe thought was better place for both them to live and leaves everythingchaotic to The Giver And at the end of the book he ends up sleepingand experiencing delusional visions which seemed to be that the authorof the book left the ending ambiguous If Jonas stayed in the community and kept doing what hed been doing he would have become The Giver after receiving all the memories form theolder giver which is obvious Jonass life could have been muchbetter living in perfectly ruled community where everything is undercontrol and safe unless you break any rules Jonas would not have to end up dead if he kept himself in thecommunity my aspect to the ending is that hed died of hypothermiaeven if Gabriel was released it would not have caused any harm toJonas Jonas would have been known as an exceptional person in hiscommunity treated by people with a great reverence If he endeavouredto fit in society he would have reconciled with people kindly transmitting memories to get them understand deeper concept of lifeJonas wouldnt have had to be seen as the traitor of the communityafter he left stealthily it is clear to the readers that he betrayedthe people and relinquished difficulties he was dealing with To himit wouldnt be pleasant to be seen as some fugitive His life couldhave been far richer if he simply stayed on his task As
