Wicca is the religion of Witchcraft Wicca is a Pagan mystery religion of Goddess and God Wicca is also a Nature religion Its roots are very ancient its traditional and modern It encourages free thought artistic creativity individuality and personal spiritual and psychic growth It is a celebration of nature honoring mother earth being connected with it Wicca is the religion that uses magic in a religious framework It uses pure white magic to help others Wicca has no written laws but it has one essential rule The Wiccan Rede and that is An it harm none do what thou wilt Simplified it says Do what you want as long as no harm comes to anyone as a result Wicca is more than magic there is a lot more to it Wicca is practiced by a witch When hearing the word witch the image of a dark ugly wart-nosed lady wearing all black along with a pointy black hat comes to mind But no witches do not really look like that You cannot tell from a witch and a non-witch Anyone can be a witch young old rich poor black white etc People come to Wicca for many reasons Some seek occult power and knowledge Some are drawn to Wicca by feminism and the role of the Goddess others by ecological awareness and reverence for Nature still others seek spiritual transformation Magic is an attraction for some Crowley 3 Some witches are solo witches others belong to covens Covens are stable groups of witches who get together to worship the Gods and do magic The average number of witches in a coven are thirteen Each coven has teachings derived from the accumulated generations who have worked in that particular coven This is recorded in a book of rites and spells the Book of Shadows Crowley 8 The main symbol of Wicca is that of a five-pointed star the Pentagram The pentagram represents the five elements
