January 2 2001 Rowan University Office of Admissions 201 Mullica Hill Road Glassboro NJ 08028-1701 Dear Admissions Committee My Name is o and I am writing to introduce myself as a potential student for your University I am very excited about embarking upon this new aspect of my life but like most other young adults my age am a little nervous I also know the strong reputation your school has and I am sure with the help and guidance from my parents school counselors professors and peers I will not only succeed but enjoy these upcoming years I am a people person and thrive on the many attributes each person has to offer I have learned from personal experience that your strengths come from within and each and every person you meet has something to offer you either in the way of life skills laughter friendship spirituality compassion and so much more if you allow them You just have to be receptive and non-judgmental to get the most out of your encounters and experiences I have been busy during my past four years at Sterling High School Being involved in a lot of the musical arts in school having participated and been a member of our chorus Silvertones Showchoir Group Color Guard and SADD Committee I have met alot of friends and enjoyed the comradity I am very active within my church and community and enjoy working with kids Within my church I help teach Vacation Bible School and lead the children in the opening ceremonies with their singing I also teach Jr Church am in the Sr Choir attend Youth Group and have been volunteering as a camp counselor at Camp Haluwasa a Christian camp in Hammonton New Jersey This summer I hope to work there as a full-time counselor for the Kids in Pioneer Village with kids ranging in ages from 6 - 10 I enjoy helping
