A Study of the Societal Impact of Stratford's Resurrection, a Town and Parish in London

This is an essay written about the impact that the 2012 London Olympic Games had on Stratford. Stratford is located in the London Borough of Newham. Newham is in the process of being fully recognized as an inner-city borough which would bring it more funding. Before the Olympics, there was not much interest in the area of Stratford. Then it was recognized for its quick access to central London, shopping, and leisure amenities. Significant gentrification and regeneration projects are happening in Stratford. One such project is the Carpenter's Estate which is a project that is removing the poor and allowing the rich in. Other projects that will cause fragmentation are the expansion of Carpenters Primary School and Building Crafts College. There is some upside to the regeneration, though. Newham did not become a ghost town after the Olympics. Instead, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is visited every year. There are eight permanent venues. The media center has been converted into a business hub. The sports facilities are open year-round, and the stadium hosts West Ham FC and concerts and other sporting events.
