Affirmative Action When looking at this study we must look at its internal external and construct validity Along with whether or not the conclusions of the author are justified and that this study is ethically right When looking at the internal validity of this experiment we must first see what the independent and dependent variables are So when we look at this we see that the independent variable is if the students are normal or if they are ones that had special consideration when being selected to be accepted to the medical school This then leads us to find the dependent variable which is how well these students then did after being accepting Then to decide if this experiment is internal valid we must see if this relationship can be observed So when we look at the results we see that only 20 of the people accepted over the period of this study were special consideration students And out of these 535 were minority students while 19 of regular admissions were minority students This study then should that only 94 special students graduated while 97 of regular admission students graduated We also find out from the results that regular admissions students received better grades on core basic and clinical courses This information then shows that this relationship between the two variables can be observed thus making it internally valid The next thing we must look at is whether or not this experiment is externally valid What we then look to see is if the relationship between the independent and dependent variables can be seen in other experiments of this nature or if it only exists for this study So when we look at this we must see if this can pertain to another study So in doing this I believe that this is possible because if you were to look at different medical schools or even law schools you would be able to observe
