This story is about a ten year old boy named Lewis Barnevelt whose parents are killed in a car accident It took place in 1948 Lewis has to move in with his Uncle Jonathan Jonathan lived in New Zebedee Michigan Lewis had never met his uncle Jonathans house was a mansion Lewis liked the house and his uncle His uncle turned out to be a warlock He could perform all sorts of tricks Throughout the house you could hear the ticking of a clock where was it and why was it ticking When Lewis first moved to New Zebedee he had no friends but as time progressed he met a boy named Tarby Tarby helps him with baseball Unfortunately Tarby decides he really does not like Lewis very much Lewis wants to impress Tarby so he decides to tell Tarby he knows how to raise someone from the dead Lewis meets Tarby at the graveyard and Lewis draws a sign on one of the graves and wrote a name in it The grave starts to shake and Lewis and Tarby run Lewis soon found out he rose Mrs Izzard from the dead The Izzards lived in and owned Jonathans house before they died They were evil warlocks Mr Izzard had made a clock thats ticking could be heard throughout the house but Jonathan does not know where the real clock is Now that Mrs Izzard is alive again she moves in to the house across the street from Jonathans house One night after they got back from an evening drive they found out they had been robbed Everything in the house looked normal except the lights The lights were out of their sockets One of the light sockets had an imprint of something The shape turned out to be a key It looked like a key that someone would use to wind up a clock It must have been Mrs Izzard and she wanted
