"If your goal in this essay was to simply summarize the book briefly, you've done a good job of meeting your goal. There isn't much in the way of original analysis in the essay, so if that's part of the goal of this assignment, I would recommend that you flesh out your writing with more analysis of the plot, characters, and/or themes of the novel. Your thesis is good, but not all of the details of your summary relate to it; you might revisit your points there and see if there's more that you can say about the role of compassion and forgiveness in the novel, for instance. You have good control of your grammar and punctuation overall; there are some minor errors, but they don't impact the readability of your essay."
