"If your goal in this essay was to simply summarize the book briefly, you've done a good job of meeting your goal. There isn't much in the way of original analysis in the essay, so if that's part of the goal of this assignment, I would recommend that you flesh out your writing with more analysis of the plot, characters, and/or themes of the novel. Your thesis is good, but not all of the details of your summary relate to it; you might revisit your points there and see if there's more that you can say about the role of compassion and forgiveness in the novel, for instance.
