Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27 1756 in Salzburg He was baptized Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart He was taught by his father Leopold Mozart he was a violinist in the orchestra of the Archbishop of Salzburg he finally rose to the position of chapel master At the age of three Wolfgang would sit in front of the harpsichord he would try to find harmonic succession of third and when he did his voice would ring out playfully When he was four his father began to teach him the rules of composition Leopold decided to show his childrens talent before all of Europa Francis 1 of Wein refereed to him as ein kleine hexenmeister a little master-wizard The Mozarts returned to Salzburg in 1766 after an absence of four years The tour had been a greater success artistically than materially One year later the Mozarts went on tour again They went to Wein where Wolfgang was scheduled to perform his first opera Envious composers created intrigues which prevented the opera from having a performance in public but was instead performed at Dr Messners house he was a friend of the family Close to the end of 1769 the Mozarts went to Italia When they went to Milano they received a commission for Wolfgang to perform another opera the following year Also in 1769 he composed the first German opera Bastien und Bastienne In 1770 Wolfgang performed the opera Mitridate re di Ponto on Christmas day it was a huge success The Mozarts went back to Salzburg in 1771 he really didnt do much during those six years he stayed in Salzburg In 1777 he obtained a leap of absence and went to Munich with his mother Mozart was now 21 years old and not a child sensation anymore In Mannheim he was a house guest of Aloysia Weber he fell in love with Aloysia and was considering marrying her but his father
