In America we witness racist acts and hear racist slurs on a daily basis In a poll done by USA Today they found that the majority of whites hispanics and blacks all thought that racism was widespread in the United States However while 80 of blacks agreed the white participants were split with 54 agreeing and 46 disagreeing It seems that despite Martin Luther King Day the 13th amendment African-American awareness month and the fact that our own president Barack Obama is half black people are still racist in our society A society in which black children are mocked judged and made fun of for no reason other than the color of their skin A society in which we turn the blind eye because we have become immune to racism and believe it is not that serious A society in which black children are harassed to the point where they loath themselves and have no self-worth For these reasons I would like to ask your company to fund a commercialized public service announcement that will emotionally appeal to young Americans The PSA will demonstrate how negative racist slurs and acts affect people emotionally and physically Through education and social blending we can attempt to put an end to racism in our society If we start reforming the minds of our youth our leaders of tomorrow they may actually be anti-racistMy ad will address the problem of racism in our society The problem with our society is that children have a tendency to inherit their parents belief If youre brought up in a household that views blacks as inferior and youre constantly being told that as a child there is a good chance that racism in return will be imbedded in your belief system In order to change the endurance of racism in our society the minds of our youth must be taught strictly in terms of anti-racism Not only should children be taught not
