Alice in Wonderland presented two main themes the change fromchildhood to adulthood and the mystery of life For example Alicespends much of her time changing in sizes and trying to find her trueform in the process The discomfort she feels never being the right sizeis used as a symbol for the changes that take place throughout pubertyAlice is frustrated uncomfortable and sad when as she experiencesthese changes In Chapter I she keeps finding herself too big or toosmall to enter the garden while in Chapter V she loses control overher body and her neck grows to be ridiculously long These constantchanges show how a child may feel as her body changes through puberty Alices adventures in Wonderland all seem to have no reasonablesolution or absolutely no solution at all Alice expects thateventually something she comes upon will make some sort of sense butshe finds that she can never figure out Wonderland Alice tries tounderstand the Caucus race solve the Mad Hatters riddle comprehendthe Dormouses story and understand the Queens croquet game but withno luck whatsoever Alice learns that she cannot expect to find logic ormeaning in anything she encounters even when they appear to beproblems riddles or games that would normally have solutions Carrollshows this as a representation of life and how nothing makes senseLike a meaningless puzzle PLOTAlice sits reading over her sisters shoulder when she catches aglimpse of a White Rabbit running by her Alice follows the rabbit downthe hole and finds a hallway lined with doors She finds a door that sheopens using a key she has found but cannot it through She findsdifferent potions and small snacks to make her change in size until sheis abnormally large Realizing she is still unable to enter the gardenAlice begins to cry and her giant tears form a pool and as she criesshe falls into the pool As she swims she meets a mouse who accompaniesher to the shore with other animals She
