A Beneficial Risk Obviously there has always been a great risk while participating in contact sports The participants involved in these sporting events are always susceptible to being seriously injured These brave participants are completely aware of the everyday risk but the energy that these games bring keep them striving regardless Over the years there have been a countless numbers of injuries due to the nature of these sports yet millions of children are gaining interest each day While children may be gaining interest the same statement can not be said for most parents who are faced with the issue of whether or not to allow their children to participate in often dangerous sports For parents coming to the conclusion to allow their child to participate in these sometimes violent sports can certainly become a difficult decision They must face the reality that their child will be at constant risk to an injury and that fact is usually difficult to handle for most parents Injuries are always an unfortunate circumstance yet sadly they are a part of any physical activity With all factors including the risk of injury I believe that there are many more positive than negative outcomes that come from a childs involvement in a contact sport Personally I think that a contact sport is an excellent activity for most children to partake in I would most certainly allow my child to participate in one of these rugged sports if he had the interest and desire Allowing my child to make the right decision independently is an exceptionally important quality for him to acquire even at a young age If my child had an interest in football and he was in a good physical condition I would allow him to make his own decision and I would encourage him to be successful One of the main reasons I would allow him to play is both the physical and mental strength
