Chiropractic Care Chiropractic care which has proven to be successful through the years is an alternative to conventional medicine Instead of internally medicating the body we asked of medicine why drug the entire body when only one organ is sick May it be a liver a spleen a lung and or a back It would be better to release and permit the full flow of normal strength into that ailing or sub-functioning organ Palmer 8 This is similar to the words of Doctor Daniel David Palmer the father of chiropractic care He invented the practice in September of the year 1895 DD Palmer asked himself questions regarding the statement above did we lack normal nerve supply And if so why 9 He came to a conclusion that a new type of practice was necessary Therapeutic methods give remedies to treat the effects The chiropractic philosophy states that the cause by vertebrae pressures upon nerves in a persons affiliated and the cure consists in the correction of that cause of subluxation Palmer was not just looking for a treatment He was also looking to find out where the pain first started and the cause of the disease So with this in mind Palmer began healing as a business 12 He began practicing under the name of magnetic as most of the medical doctors did But unlike the medical doctors he did not prescribe medicine nor did he slap or rub his patients Doctor Palmer accused all of the other physicians of giving patients disease Doctor Palmer knew his methods were not perfect and he knew it would take him along time to perfect the chiropractic art form In the practice he had been in for ten years he followed treated and relieved nerves of inflammation He made many good cures as many are doing today under a similar method My constant thoughts were that there was a difference in the persons affected and the ones not
