Writing for me always was difficult and never really knew why I was never a great writer and never though about it but when I look back to some of my first writing experiences I can see where things went wrong The different styles and behaviors you form as a child shape the way you write today and how you feel about writing The first time I remember any type of writing was when I was in kindergarten and I had to write my name on the board In my class if you did something wrong you wrote your name on the board I cant even remember what I did wrong but I do remember being very embarrassed Kids thought that if you wrote your name on the board it was the end of the world This thought seems strange to me because I cannot remember ever learning how to write I just remember having the ability to write it Going up to the front of the board made me nervous and because you have to write with chalk while you stand up and that was always a little tricky The next memory I have is learning cursive in the first grade The teacher gave a little handout that listed the capital and lower case forms of the alphabet We also had a workbook of recycled paper to practice in I told myself I wanted to have the best cursive in the class so I practiced a lot For practice we had to copy sentences and words into our workbook day after day After a while the homework got repetitive so I did not practice any more and now every since that time when we had to practice our writing it gives me a negative connotation Not practicing my handwriting skills I why I now have bad handwriting Another early writing memory I have is one of my first major assignment In
