Let it pour A critical thinking case study The setting takes place at Faith medical hospital On the back of everyones business card at Faith it states With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual heritage and values our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with the partners who share the same vision and values It sounds great but things arent working out that way at faith This analysis will address the different situations facing the management staff at the hospital and what actions should be taken to address the problems When addressing these issues the analysis will also tackle the organizational processes ethical issues and the communications systems utilized by the hospital staff There is a wide spectrum of issues that is keeping the hospital from running smoothly and efficiently All of these issues range from ethical dilemmas to personal feelings to monetary situations to personal rights The first issue Id like to discuss is the employees inability to view situation in the same scope In the case study let it pour it stated that lots of the personnel treat patients differently in this case Im talking about the don not resuscitate DNR procedure They had three cases in one case nurses followed DNR with no written agreement in the next case they there were people in the same situation but they feel that they must do all they can to save the patient and in the last case a nurse didnt follow DNR even though paper work was in place The second major concern that the hospital faces is the high cost of operations combined with a drop in the number of patients Cut backs may be in order and the CEO doesnt really know where to cut from If money is not saved immediately the hospital could go under Even though the
