The expulsion of a fetus from the uterus before it has reached the stage of viability in human beings usually about the 20th week of gestation is called abortion Our topic on abortion was chosen because it is a controversial topic on human rights often debated in society Abortion can be induced for medical reasons or because of an elective decision to end the pregnancy Throughout our Internet research we discovered nine different methods for performing abortions also found were photographs of aborted babies and a video of live abortions We interviewed friends and family to obtain different views and opinions and discover the pros and cons of abortion We also interviewed Dr Randy Robinson who provided us with the instruments visual aid Research was also conducted through access to the Sara High Tower library We acquired two books entitled Roe vs Wade The Abortion Question by DJ Hurda and Problems with Death by David L Binder These books allowed us to educate ourselves with the controversy of abortion and supplied us with information for our exhibit We chose the presentation of an exhibit because it allowed us to express our topic in a creative thorough manner using visual aid Our three main focuses include the history methods and pros and cons of abortion Abortion has existed in the human race for millennia Ancient tribes would sometimes be forced to move quickly and pregnant women could slow the entire tribe down Abuse of the womans abdomen and later abuse through excessive horseback riding could cause the baby to be born prematurely This baby was then either killed or left to die Unfortunately the mother also frequently died during the birthing Today abortion is much safer for the mother but just as deadly to the child The methods of abortion include Mifepristone Suction Dilation and Curettage Dilation and Evacuation Partial Birth Saline Hysterotomy Prostaglandin and the morning after pill We created our project by assembling all
