"You are off to a good start: you've engaged with the story, rounded up some quotations, and identified a specific element to analyze (first person point of view). There are a few next steps you will want to cover. My first comment is that a lot of your paper is summary. The discussion about first person point of view doesn't kick in until page 3, which is pretty late. You will want to lead with that concept and use summary to support the analysis--not the other way around. Second is organization: right now, the discussion is hard to follow. Group similar ideas into a paragraph under a topic sentence that tells the reader what you are discussing; then, say everything that has to do with that particular topic before moving on. For example, maybe one paragraph can be about "the eye"--make sure all your points about the eye happen there. Third, your quotations are pretty long; it's okay to use long quotations, but don't let them overwhelm the paper. Use carefully selected parts to show how the author uses word choice or phrasing to create an effect. Also, make sure to use quotation marks so your reader can follow where the quote ends and begins (this was a problem on page 2)."
