Imagine a society in all grey no differation between one person or the next A society were no personal artifacts exist No art books music or even personal photographs A society were women and children and innocent animals are killed without hesitation This society is portrayed in the film equilibrium where in the future freedom is outlawed and feelings are something thats illegal and punishable by death What does this all lead to What explains this chaos Censorship or the suppression of speech or writing that is said to be obscene independent or controversial A problem that has been a nightmare to free willed people since the 1700s So how is censorship in the film equilibrium harmful to the Liberian society they are being forced to take pills forcing them to conform to not having feelings they are also being dictated and also they are being stripped of any personal uniqueness they once hadIn the film the people of the Liberian society are forced to take daily intervals of a liquid drug called Prozium which is collected at the distribution centers known as Equilibrium By the people taking Prozium the drug dampens the emotions of the people and shuts down the sensual side of people it gets rid of the feeling of hate jealously rage which in the government has the people convinced that by taking the Prozium is the way to survival and to preventing another war By keeping the people drugged the government has less trouble forcing the people to conform to the way the Tetragrammaton Council and father feel everyone should be living Which is by word that emotion is a disease and the proziam is the cure which prevents from future conflictSince the Liberian society is already being forced to take medication by the government it helps with them abiding by the way of the Liberian society which is that Father is law and Fathers will two quotes taken from
