HOLOCAUST AND RWANDA GENOCID The Similarities and Differences Both Jewish people and Rwandan Tutsi minority suffered heart-breaking losses in their population and culture during the twentieth century But these genocides came as a result of events that occurred earlier in history As I compare these two I will try to explain why and how they occurred and what are some of the bridges that connect these Genocides Genocides that occurred during the twentieth century still fresh in mind of history left the biggest mark so far in the heart of humans Both Rwandas and Jewish people suffered great lost in their populations as well as in their culture When something like this occurs we have to investigate history of these events and in majority of times we will find there the reason for the madness Tutsi although great minority of Rwandas population ruled the country through the history Even during the period of colonization when they agreed to rule together with French and Belgians Hutu never forgot that Hitlers Germany was treated like it didnt exist after WWI great German pride was hurt because of treatment they received Hitler knew how to use this anger and Jewish were set to pay the price And although these genocides both have one thing in common they took down many innocent lives they were also different in many ways Germany even in the 1940s was one of the worlds leading powers fighting a war for global domination It was a highly developed industrialized nation with a large and sophisticated army Rwanda in contrast is one of the worlds least powerful and poorest nations The majority of its population is rural peasants and the country has long since relied on foreign aid for its survival The Nazis used trained soldiers and technology in their systematic attempt to destroy an entire race of people The vast majority of the people killed in the Rwandan massacres of April
