1 How is the power of the veto provided for in the Constitution Article 1 Section 7 Clause 2 states Every bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate shall before it become a law be presented to the President of the United States if he approve he shall sign it but if not he shall return it with objections to that house in which it originated and proceed to reconsider it This clause explains that when a bill is passed through Congress and given to the President to sign to make it law if he doesnt approve of the law he has the power to veto or reject the bill But Congress has the right to override his veto 2 Besides the Amendments find three places where the Constitution provides for the handling of slavery Article I Section 2 Clause 3 states Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several states which many be included within the Union according to their respective numbers which shall be determined by adding to the whole number of free persons including those bound to service for a term of years and excluding Indians not taxed three-fifths of all other persons This clause provides information about handling the slavery issue by explaining how taxes and voting should be proportioned among citizens Each free person counts as one in the votes and taxes While slaves or those bound to service for every vote and tax every 5 slaves counts as three votes or ones to be taxed This clause pertaining to the Three-fifths Compromise Article I Section 8 Clause 14 states Congress shall have the power to provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the Union suppress insurrections and repel invasions This clause provides information handling slavery by stating that Congress has the power to call the malitia to
