In Robert Fulgums essay VP Menons Lesson Fulgum implies that you should always try to help people in need because a small contribution can make a big impact on someones life and no good deed is ever left un-done Menon was a significant political figure in India during its struggle for independence from Britain After Menon arrived in Delhi he had all his possessions stolen including his money and identification Desperately Menon asked an elderly Sikh for a temporary loan and the Sikh gave him fifteen rupees but did not ever ask to be repayed The Sikh influenced Menon to always be kind to strangers because without the loan Menon would have to return home defeated Menon took this way of thinking right into the grave The day of his death a poor beggar came to the family home asking for money Menon told his daughter to get fifteen rupees out of his wallet and give it to the man Kindness is something that travels from one person to another and the smallest of actions can greatly influence someone elses life I agree with Fulgums idea about kindness with strangers I feel you should always try to help people in need because somehow it will come back to you in the long-run If you live a good life and give to people in need I believe you will be better off Everyone gets into troubleand it would be nice knowing that wherever you go someone will be kind enough to help you if you ever have a problem I can remember one occasion where a strangers actions have greatly influenced me in my life I was traveling home from school in downtown becoming dusk My left front tire blew coming around a corner and I was actually riding on the rim for about a hundred feet I pulled over and I was about three miles from the
