Talk about irony Our assignment was to read and annotate Griffins piece on her case of writers block and then to write about one of our own cases of writers block that we encountered during high school I had no problem with the reading and annotating portion of the assignment However thus was not the case with my attempt to chronicle my own run-in with a writing snag because I dont know if this counts as a case of writers block or simply having a bad memory I turned to the page on which Susan Griffins account was written and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was quite short Its length or lack thereof encouraged me to jump right into the reading and annotating portion of the assignment Once I was finished with that I took another look at the assignment sheet and began to think back to my senior year of high school and where I came across a serious case of writers block I figured that this wouldnt be too difficult because I was in high school only a few months ago I was wrong Dead wrong I sat thinking in my bed for about ten minutes in my bed thinking of any instance in my last year of high school that I hit a bump in the writing road and lost my train of thought Nothing Hoping to trigger a recollection of any occasion where I was lost I re-read the short story Still nothing After thinking for another five or so minutes I was desperate I even asked one of my good friends from back home who was in my English class my senior year to remind me of some of the assignments that we had He too had a hard time recalling our papers from high school He actually went and dug up his notebook from our English 4 class and read me three or four of our
